EFFECTIVE USE OF MODERN INTERIOR DESIGN STYLE TO TRANSFORM A HOME

The choice of the right style is of utmost importance in designing the interiors of living spaces. The Modern style began in the late 19^th century as a reflection of trends in Modern Art & is marked by its simplistic minimalism. Its prominent features include its choice of neutral colours, use of cost-effective materials (such as glass & steel), and its preference of function over form (as seen in its choice of simple functional furniture & avoidance of unnecessary embellishments). Einterio’s team designed Mr. Dhaivat Shah’s home in Wakad, Pune (with an area of 780 sq. ft. & made with a budget of ₹15L) using the Modern Design Style & you can see the amazing results here for yourself. While the design of each home is an intrinsically personal choices, the principles used here are universal & will help you in making the right choices for your own home.

1. The Living room:

The design of the living room at Shah residence makes effective use of available space to accommodate the dining area and the household shrine. Primarily coloured in whites, greys & shades of yellow, the room looks a work of modern art. The TV unit is placed suitably opposite the main sofa to allow comfortable viewing from all angles. The traditional template of a wooden shrine has been suitably adapted in accordance to modern design principles making it a fine blend of tradition & modernity.

2. Kids’ Room:

The kids’ room must always be joyous & full of life, and so, we chose a scenic starry night theme for it. The chosen colours (Pipe dream L154 & Cascade 0210) are pleasant, energetic & luxuriously radiant. The mustard-yellow fabric lining along the wall-to-wall full-length headboards of the 2 single beds goes well with the mountain themed wall-papers that line the walls. Royalé Touché anti-bacterial scratch-resistant glossy laminates (Crystal 1174 & Cystal 1111) beautify the study table, open shelf & sliding wardrobe.

3. Master Bedroom:

Themed in white & grey, the master bedroom at Mr. Shah’s home houses a queen-size bed with grey fabric-lined headboard, & a sideboard with a dressing storage above it. In addition to the wardrobe found in all master bedrooms, here one also finds a TV unit, a foldable study table & a few display shelfs with profile lighting.

4. Parents’ room:

This peachy tropical themed room has a single queen-sized bed with a headboard & hydraulic storage. The openable wardrobe alongside the bed features a couple of easy-access drawers and is decorated in Merino 10012 (Oxford Cherry) & Merino 10838 (Helsinki Pike Oak) laminates to give it a distinct wooden look & feel. The display shelves in front of the bed allow for putting up artifacts on display as additional embellishments.

5. Kitchen:

Just as a mitochondrion is the power-house of a cell, surely enough, the kitchen is the power-house of a home for helping keep its residents well-fed! One should never make any compromises while designing the kitchen. Here, you can see a parallel kitchen platform with provisions for all the necessary kitchen appliances including a microwave & a water-purifier. The provided loft storage features profile shutters & profile lighting, and is finished with Royalé Touché high-gloss Crystal 1254 laminates.
